Ethiopia’s Ambassador for Somalia Approved
Mogadishu (Cunaabi) The president of Somali Transitional Federal Government, Shiekh Sharif has on Friday received and approved the documents of Ethiopia’s ambassador who will be serving in Mogadishu.
The Ethiopian government has appointed Ambassador Abdiaziz Mohamed as it’s representative in Somalia and it is the second country to officially open it’s embassy offices in Mogadishu.
Previously Djibouti had it’s diplomatic mission in Somalia back to action after it launched it’s embassy services in Mogadishu October last year. Both Ethiopia and Djibouti are neighbors of Somalia who are effectively involved in the Somali peace process.
The newly appointed Ethiopian ambassador in Mogadishu Abdiaziz Mohamed earlier represented his government in the Somali peace process that was going in Kenya until 2004 as he also served different diplomatic missions in other parts of Africa.
Several other countries are expected to follow the foot steps of Djibouti and Ethiopia if the security situation in Somalia gets better. Most of the countries and institutions with relations and interests in Somali have got special envoys and representatives serving at the embassies in neighboring countries such as Kenya.
